| | Mirren Crombie-Smith (to be said with marbles in your mouth) is happiest when she is outside in the natural environment enjoying everything on offer. Getting fit and buffing up (ahem) is an additional extra! A keen runner Mirren often takes part in 10 km and marathons. She is a novice to the triathlon environment, that said she would like to go big, aim high and do an Ironman next autumn, then party for a week drinking her own body weight in beer every day! She would also love to do an adventure race, here or abroad...just for the craic!

| | Paul Miles (Assistant Coach) In August 2006 aged 47, weighing in at 15 stone and at only 5'10” I decided to have my version of a mid-life crisis, lose some weight and get fit. In February 2007 I bought a mountain bike and decided I would enter the 2008 New Year's Day Edinburgh Triathlon: That's when the madness gripped me! Beyond Triathlon When I'm not training you will find me running my kids to swimming (Brian once coached my daughter – she's still recovering!), athletics, rock climbing and all the rest! Occasionally I've been known to walk the dogs with my long-suffering wife, Pauline. |

| | Denise Tracey Having spent several years in increasingly desk bound jobs I decided a few years ago it was either a new wardrobe or a serious lifestyle change. I started running regularly, and was persuaded to enter my first 10K in Edinburgh in 2006. Since then I have done shedloads of 10K’s and many half marathons. Some of these are more memorable than others – running in a blizzard in the Alloa half in March does stick in the mind, as does the Aviemore half this year, but for the much better reason of the fantastic scenery and downhill end section. Looking for a new challenge this year I decided that a triathlon would be better on my body than a full marathon. I have now completed three of them, with the swim always being hard. For 2010 I would love to complete a swim section in front crawl, and really improve on my first year. |
